§ Mr. Tierney
asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what the estimated payment due to the EEC Budget was on the entry of Great Britain into the EEC; and what is the amount paid to date.
§ Mr. Joel Barnett
The table on page 26 of the White Paper on Public Expenditure to 1976–77 (Cmnd. 5178), presented to Parliament in December 1972, gave estimates of contributions to the Communities' budget by the United Kingdom of £125 million and £165 million for 1973 and 1974 respectively, at 1972 survey prices. The amount actually paid to date by the United Kingdom is £257 million.
