§ Mr. George Rodgers
asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what steps are being taken to divert the transport of dangerous cargoes from road to rail.
§ Mr. Mulley

I have already announced my intention of asking large firms to investigate the scope for transferring further freight to rail: dangerous goods will be among the types of consignment considered.
