HC Deb 20 May 1974 vol 874 c5W
Sir J. Eden

asked the Secretary of State for Trade (1) whether he will authorise a proportion of the Eady Fund to be made available to help provide new producers of British films with their new capital requirements;

(2) if he will make a statement about the encouragment he is giving to the National Film Finance Corporation to produce new feature films for cinemas; and how he proposes these should be financed.

Mr. Deakins

The powers of the National Film Finance Corporation do not enable the corporation to produce films. On the question of finance for new British films, I would refer the right hon. Member to the answer I gave to the hon. Member for Ipswich (Mr. Money) on 29th April.—[Vol. 872, c.395.]
