§ Sir J. Edenasked the Secretary of State for Trade (1) whether he will authorise a proportion of the Eady Fund to be made available to help provide new producers of British films with their new capital requirements;
(2) if he will make a statement about the encouragment he is giving to the National Film Finance Corporation to produce new feature films for cinemas; and how he proposes these should be financed.
§ Mr. DeakinsThe powers of the National Film Finance Corporation do not enable the corporation to produce films. On the question of finance for new British films, I would refer the right hon. Member to the answer I gave to the hon. Member for Ipswich (Mr. Money) on 29th April.—[Vol. 872, c.395.]
