asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what is the ratio of general practitioners in West Bromwich to patients.

Dr. Owen

The ratio as at 1st April 1974 is 1:2,561.

Mr. Winterton

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what is the patient-general practitioner ratio in the Macclesfield area.

Dr. Owen

The number of patients per general practitioner in the Macclesfield health district is 2,248 as at 1st January 1974. The corresponding figure for Con-gleton and Macclesfield, one of the three practice areas within the health district, is 2,390.
