§ Mr. Morganasked the Secretary of State for Wales what average percentage increases have occurred in water rates since 1st April 1973 in(a) Wales generally, (b) the county of Clwyd and (c) the area covered by the former West Denbighshire and West Flintshire division of the Welsh National Water Development Authority.
§ Mr. John MorrisSince 1st April 1973 the average percentage increases in water rates for non-measured and measured supplies respectively have been (a) in Wales, 148 per cent. and 124 per cent. (b) in the County of Clwyd, 76 per cent. and 60 per cent; and (c) in the area of the West Denbighshire and West Flintshire Water Unit of the Welsh National Water Development Authority, 100 per cent. and 89 per cent. These increases arise from the operation of the Water Act 1973.
