asked the Secretary of State Trade whether he will arrange for compensation to be paid to Mr. William Peel Fletcher and other persons involved in respect of damage to their interests in the matter of Carlton, Greig & Co. Ltd., and the Wolverhampton Group of Steel Companies.

Mr. Clinton Davis

No. Mr. Fletcher's claims for damages to his interests have been before the courts where he has not succeeded, and I am not aware of any grounds for making such a payment.
