§ Mr. Freudasked the Secretary of State for Industry if he will take steps to implement the proposals of Imperial College relating to Tracked Hovercraft Limited, following publication of the Third Report from the Select Committee on Science and Technology.
§ Mr. MeacherA draft proposal involving the future use of the Tracked Hovercraft Limited facilities has recently been submitted by a consortium of interested parties in universities and is being considered by the Science Research Council as part of a broader review of its policy on research relating to advanced ground transport. In view of their continuing interests in this field the Department of Industry and the Department of the Environment are closely associated with the review. It is too early to indicate what conclusions may be reached in respect of the proposal.
