§ Mr. Sillarsasked the Secretary of State for Trade what measures he intends taking to stimulate trade with Romania.
§ Mr. DeakinsMy Department is consulting the Romanian authorities about arrangements for the 1974 session of the Anglo-Romanian Joint Governmental Commission which was established under the co-operation agreement signed in June 1972 as the appropriate body for reviewing, supervising and promoting the development of trade and of industrial, scientific and technological co-operation between the two countries.
In addition, an announcement will shortly be made of the facilities which are available for import into the United Kingdom during 1974 of Romanian goods 61W which remain subject to quantitative restriction. These represent overall very substantial increases in the facilities established for 1973.
The services of my Department and the British Overseas Trade Board are available in the usual way to British exporters to Romania.
