asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he is satisfied with the arrangements that local authorities are making for informing the public about the local ombudsmen; and if such arrangements will include explanatory leaflets being sent to every ratepayer about local ombudsmen.

Mr. John Silkin

This will be a matter for the Commissions for Local Administration as soon as they have been appointed. I have no doubt that they will consider the distribution of explanatory leaflets to ratepayers.
