§ Mr. William Hamiltonasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will introduce legislation to amend the Scottish law on divorce.
§ Mr. William RossSuccessive Governments have taken the view that, because of the social and moral questions involved, divorce law reform is a matter more suitable for legislation introduced by a private Member than for Government legislation. This Government are willing to consider giving drafting assistance to any private Member who brings forward a measure which is on generally acceptable lines.
