§ 30. Sir G. de Freitasasked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he has agreed to the request by the Northamptonshire County Council contained in its letter G/MG of 7th March 1974 that he receive a deputation of councillors to hear their case for special recognition of the financial problems caused to the ratepayers by the council's co-operation with Government measures for the relocation of population and industry in the new and expanding towns of Northamptonshire.
§ Mr. John SilkinMy right hon. Friend was not able to receive the proposed deputation when the request was first made. But if, having considered the position in the light of the Rate Support Grant Order which has now been made, the county council wishes to renew its request, it will be given favourable consideration.
