§ Mr. Biffenasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will make a statement on the current situation concerning the application of EEC regulations to New York dressed poultry; and what further representations are intended by the Government.
§ Mr. BuchanUnder the present terms of Directive 71/118 the trade in New York dressed poultry must come to an end by February 1976. The Commission has proposed a deferment until February 1980, but this concerns only the need for evisceration immediately after slaughter. We are considering what further representations are necessary.
§ Mr. Bodyasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what was the approximate number of turkeys sold in the United Kingdom in 1973 and dressed in a way that would be contrary to EEC Directive 118.
