asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what is the latest boarding-out allowance for children in care with local authorities in England and Wales and Cornwall respectively.

The latest figures cover the year ending 31st March 1973 when the estimated average weekly cost to local authorities in England and Wales of a child in care boarded out with foster parents was£5.14. The figure for Cornwall was£4.02.
