asked the Secretary of State for Employment what was the retail price index in 1966, at the time of each change of Government and the comparative figures for the latest convenient date.

Taking 16th January 1962, as equal to 100, the figures for the general index of retail prices at March 1966, at each subsequent change of Government and at May 1974 are as follows:—
