HC Deb 26 June 1974 vol 875 c446W
18. Mr. Arnold Shaw

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what measures he is taking to reduce the waiting time for interviews for United Kingdom visas or entry certificates at the appropriate offices in the Indian subcontinent.

Mr. Ennals

The Government are very concerned about this problem which we inherited from the previous Government and have, therefore, decided to reinforce the staff of certain offices in the Indian subcontinent, particularly in Dacca and Islamabad.
