asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what is the policy of Her Majesty's Government in regard to paragraphs 50 to 55, entitled "The Study of Europe", of the communication of the Commission of the EEC relating to Regulation 676/74.

Mr. Prentice

The communication of the Commission to which the hon. Gentleman refers was one of the papers available to Community Ministers of Education at their conference in Luxembourg on 6th June 1974. The conference was not asked on that occasion to endorse the Commission's proposals. The subject matter of the paragraphs referred to is not included in the list of action areas to be studied by a committee of officials set up by the conference to formulate possible schemes for co-operation.
