asked the Prime Minister whether he will now announce the names of the members of the Royal Commission on the Press.

Yes. The Queen has been pleased to approve that the following be appointed members of the Royal Commission on the Press under the chairmanship of the honourable Mr Justice Finer:

  • Mr. David Basnett.
  • Mr. Geoffrey Goodman.
  • Mr. Malcolm Horsman.
  • The Lord Hunt, CBE, DSO
  • Mr Paul Johnson.
  • Mr. John Eilian Jones, OBE
  • Professor Oliver McGregor
  • Mr. Ian Richardson.
  • Miss Eirlys Roberts, OBE
