HC Deb 25 June 1974 vol 875 c444b W
Mr. O'Halloran

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many psychiatric patients per thousand population were treated in out-patient clinics in Northern Ireland in the years 1970, 1971, 1972 and 1973.

Mr. Merlyn Rees

I regret that the information is not available in the form requested since the records are maintained on the basis of the number of attendances, not the number of out-patients. In 1970, 1971, 1972 and 1973 the total number of out-patient attendances per thousand population at psychiatric establishments in Northern Ireland was 27, 25, 26 and 25 respectively.
