Mr. Arthur Latham

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will make a statement on the meeting between the Metropolitan Police and the organisers of a joint demonstration by the Orange Order and the National Front to be held on 13th July.

Mr. Newens

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what discussions have taken place between the Metropolitan Police and the organisers of the demonstration announced for 13th July in which members of the Orange Order and the National Front intend to participate.

Mr. Thorne

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will make a statement on the meeting between the Metropolitan Police and members of the Orange Order and the National Front who plan a joint demonstration for 13th July.

Mr. Roy Jenkins

The Commissioner of Police for the Metropolis tells me that no such meeting or discussion has taken place and that neither of the two organisations has as yet given any notification of a demonstration planned for 13th July.
