Mr. Frank Allaunasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he was consulted by the United States Government before they announced their intention of supplying the Arabs and Israelis with nuclear assistance and if he will raise this matter in the Security Council as a threat to world peace.
§ Mr. EnnalsThe answer to both questions is "No". The United States Government have made it clear that the nuclear assistance which they have provided to Egypt and Israel will be devoted exclusively to peaceful purposes and will be given under binding international safeguards.
