§ 30. Mr. Gordon Wilsonasked the Secretary of State for Energy whether he will transfer the research programme on design of offshore structures in the North Sea from the National Physical Laboratory to the National Engineering Laboratory or to some suitable Scottish university research unit.
§ Mr. StrangNo single Government research establishment can undertake research into the whole field of the design of offshore structures. The National Engineering Laboratory, the National Physical Laboratory and universities, including Scottish universities, are given contracts on the basis of their respective expertise and facilities.
