HC Deb 24 June 1974 vol 875 c315W
25. Sir John Rodgers

asked the Secretary of State for Industry what is the total value of Japanese lightweight motor cycles which have been imported into the United Kingdom in the past 12 months; and what has been the total value of similar motor cycles produced by British industry in the same period.

Mr. Meacher

Imports of motor cycles under 250 cc were valued at £14 million cif in the 12 months ending January 1974. British production figures are not available but output is believed to be comparatively negligible.
