HC Deb 24 June 1974 vol 875 cc357-8W
Mr. Albert Roberts

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment, concerning the dispersal of Government Departments, if he will give consideration to the Wakefield Metropolitan District as a suitable area, in view of above national average of unemployment.

Mr. Robert Sheldon

I have been asked to reply.

I think my hon. Friend is referring to dispersal as a result of the Hardman Report, on which I shall be making a statement as soon as possible. The claims of Wakefield, along with those of other places, will be considered before decisions are reached.
