HC Deb 24 June 1974 vol 875 cc344-5W
Mr. Cryer

asked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will publish the results of the survey carried out in the second half of 1973 into the Foundries (Protective Footwear and Gaiters) Regulations 1971.

Mr. Harold Walker

Results of the survey have been submitted to the Joint Standing Committee on Health. Safety and Welfare in Foundries and are now being considered by the JSC Sub-Committee concerned with lower-leg protection. My right hon. Friend is awaiting the views of the joint standing committee on whether publication of the survey results would be of value.

Mr. Cryer

asked the Secretary of State for Employment if he is satisfied with the working of the Foundries (Protective Footwear and Gaiters) Regulations 1971 so far as safety in foundries is concerned.

Mr. Harold Walker

The results of the survey carried out in the second half of 1973 into the Foundries (Protective Footwear and Gaiters) Regulations are being considered by a sub-committee of the Joint Standing Committee on Health, Safety and Welfare in Foundries. When its views are known my right hon. Friend will consider whether further action is required.
