HC Deb 21 June 1974 vol 875 c310W
Mr. Fred Evans

asked the Secretary of State for Wales whether he has now considered the programmes of reclamation submitted by local authorities and if he will make a statement.

Mr. John Morris

Local authorities are being informed today that I have selected 34 schemes for grant-aid support in this and the two succeeding financial years. These schemes will reclaim over 1,400 acres at a cost in excess of £8 million. In making my selection I have had regard to schemes which will contribute most to the economic and social life of Wales. In particular, projects have been chosen where there are elements of public safety and health involved and where sites can be created for industrial and other community developments.
