§ Mr. PeartThe information requested is given below. It should be noted that calf slaughterings during 1972 and 1973 were unusually low because the cattle herd was expanding rapidly. The current level of slaughterings is more closely comparable with those of about three years ago when our herd was much smaller.

Levy rates and rates of monetary and accession compensatory amounts are published in the Official Journal of the European Communities. Current information on particular products can be obtained from the Intervention Board for Agricultural Produce.
In many cases, charges on agricultural imports are subject to reduction by the application of the accession and monetary compensatory amounts. In some cases these completely offset the import charge.
