HC Deb 20 June 1974 vol 875 cc225-6W
Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Prime Minister what discussions he had with the Pay Board and the TUC before increasing the salaries of those Ministers mentioned in the Ministers of the Crown Bill.

The Prime Minister

The Bill makes no increases in the salaries of individual Ministers. It enables a higher salary to be paid to a holder of the office of Minister of State or Parliamentary Secretary to the Treasury if appointed as a member of the Cabinet. No holder of those offices is a member of the Cabinet at the present time.
