HC Deb 19 June 1974 vol 875 c152W
34. Mr. Dixon

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs when he next expects to meet the American Secretary of State.

Mr. Hattersley

My right hon. Friend and Dr. Kissinger are both at present attending the NATO Ministerial meeting in Ottawa.

Mr. Alan Lee Williams

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what consultation has taken place with the Government of the United States of America concerning renegotiation of the terms of entry into the EEC.

Mr. Hattersley

There have been no formal consultations with the United States about our renegotiation, which is a matter between Her Majesty's Government and the other members of the European Community. We are, however, in close and constant touch with the United States Government on matters of mutual interest, and they are well aware of our objectives in the renegotiation.
