Mr. Aitken

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will set out in the OFFICIAL REPORT a table showing Great Britain's total gold reserves at each fiscal year end since 1960.

Mr. Hugh Fraser

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what was the size of United Kingdom gold stocks in 1963 and in each subsequent year.

Mr. Dell

The information is set out in the following table. The sterling valuation is on the basis of the gold parity; this was £12.5 per fine ounce until 18th November 1967 and £14.5833 per fine ounce thereafter.
