asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if she will retain the married woman's option in any future occupational pension scheme she may introduce.

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services when she expects to be able to announce the Government's new plans for national superannuation; and if she will make a statement.

Mr. O'Malley

My right hon. Friend will publish as soon as possible a White Paper setting out the Government's pension plans, and I must ask hon. Members to wait till then for the details of our proposals.

27. Mr. Kenneth Clarke

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether she will now make a further statement on the future of occupational pension schemes.

Mr. O'Malley

The Government's proposals on the place of occupational pen- sion schemes in their pension plans will be set out in a White Paper which we intend to publish as soon as possible.
