§ Mr. Kenneth Clarkeasked the Minister of Overseas Development whether she will make a statement about the discussions on the future of European development aid held by the EEC Council of Ministers on 13th June.
§ Mrs. HartThe Council considered the question of a Community contribution in response to the United Nations' proposed emergency measures for the countries hardest hit by the oil crisis, and referred a final decision to the Council of Foreign Ministers on 25th June. It considered the principle of the Community provision of aid to non-associated developing countries, and I hope that acceptance of this principle will be confirmed at the662W next meeting of the Development Council in July. The Council also discussed my own request for a worldwide approach to the distribution of Community aid, but reached no conclusion. I expect to raise this matter again at the next meeting.
