Mr. George Grant

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what is the doctor-patient ratio at the latest available date in the Morpeth constituency; and how the ratio compares with the Newcastle Regional Health Authority and nationally.

At 1st July 1974 there were 1,939 patients per doctor in the Morpeth constituency. At 1st October 1973, the latest date for which figures are available, there were 2,498 patients per doctor in the area of the Northern Regional Health Authority and 2,398 patients per doctor in England.
