HC Deb 25 July 1974 vol 877 cc569-70W
Mr. Crowder

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many letters he has received requesting him to include planning proposals relating to all other sides in the area in the public inquiry which is to be held into the Glacier Metal sports ground development proposals on 20th August; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Oakes

I would refer the hon. Member to the reply, I gave him on 5th July. We have received about 250 letters and a petition objecting to proposals by the Hillingdon Council to develop green belt land in north Ruislip. The Glacier Metal Company and the council have notified the Department that they do not intend to proceed with their application for municipal housing on the sports ground at Ladygate Lane, and the council has withdrawn the related compulsory purchase order.
