HC Deb 25 July 1974 vol 877 cc555-6W
Mr. Fred Evans

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) what is the number of invalid tricycles currently on issue to war pensioners; what was the number of accidents reported in the year ended 311th September 1973 in which invalid tricycles on issue to war pensioners were involved; and what was the ratio of accidents to miles travelled;

(2) what is the number of cars currently on issue to war pensioners; what was the number of accidents reported in the year ended 30th September 1973 in which cars on issue to war pensioners were involved; what was the ratio of accidents to miles travelled; and if she will give comparable figures for all private vehicles.

Mr. Alfred Morris

In England, at 30th September 1973, 239 three-wheelers and 6,243 cars were on issue to war pensioners. The accident records do not distinguish between war pensioner vehicles and others; nor are mileage analyses of this kind maintained.
