asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what was the amount paid by patients in respect of dental treatment in England and Wales in 1969; what were the comparable figures for 1972 and 1973; and what percentage increase these represent.

The gross amounts paid by patients to dentists for treatment in England and Wales, irrespective of refunds made by the Supplementary Benefits Commission, and the percentage increases were:
