asked the Secretary of State for the Environment at what rate the pool of unfurnished accommodation decreased subsequent to the Rent Act 1965 to the latest date for which figures are available.

From 1966 to 1972 the number of private tenants in unfurnished accommodation fell by about 5 per cent. a year in England and Wales.
