HC Deb 22 July 1974 vol 877 c310W
30. Mr. Joseph Dean

asked the Secretary of State for Energy what his policy on nuclear reactor systems for electricity generation means in terms of future employment for those workers at present employed in the production of conventional heavy turbines.

Mr. Eadie

The Government's nuclear reactor policy should have no adverse effects on the employment prospects of those engaged in heavy turbine manufacture. All large thermal power stations, whether nuclear or fossil-fired, use heavy turbines.
