§ 26. Mr. Stanleyasked the Secretary of State for Energy what is his latest estimate of the quantity of North Sea oil that will be brought ashore in 1975 and of the percentage it will represent of Great Britain's oil requirements in that year.
§ 27. Mr. Teddy Taylorasked the Secretary of State for Energy how much oil he now anticipates will be available from the North Sea in 1975; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Bruce-Gardyneasked the Secretary of State for Energy what is now his estimate of North Sea oil production in 1975.
§ Mr. StrangAs I said in answer to an earlier Question from the hon. Member for South Angus (Mr. BruceGardyne), on 5th July, the likelihood of achieving the 1975 oil production forecast of 5 million tons has been decreased by recent delays in platform construction. It would be premature for the Government to issue a new forecast at this stage. Production of 5 million tons would be around 5 per cent. of expected United Kingdom consumption in that year.
