HC Deb 22 July 1974 vol 877 c353W
Mr. Cant

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, following the large-scale increase in Euro-currency loans to less-developed countries, and in view of the difficulties which may arise in repayment following the increase in oil prices and the fall in commodity prices, he will take the initiative in reactivating the machinery agreed upon for the rescheduling of loans by the Paris Club.

Mr. Dell

The difficulties which some developing countries face as a result of higher oil prices are best dealt with by co-operative international action involving a range of different facilities rather than by considering the position of particular loans.
