HC Deb 22 July 1974 vol 877 cc354-5W
Mr. Jessel

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer how many copies of the pamphlet "Public Finance No. 2—The Budget" dated July 1974 have been printed; at what cost, and for what purpose; and what was the basis of distribution and the cost of postage.

Dr. Gilbert

185,000 copies of "Public Finance No. 2—The Budget" were produced. The printing cost was £950 and distribution costs totalled £1,100, of which £500 was for postage. This is the latest in an on-going series of broadsheets which since 1950 have provided background information on the working of the United Kingdom economy in simple terms for readers without specialised knowledge of economics. It has been distributed only to people or organisations who have asked for it.
