HC Deb 16 July 1974 vol 877 c118W
Mr. Wigley

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what is the latest available estimate of the average personal wealth per capita in Wales; and what proportion this represents of the average personal wealth per capita of Great Britain.

Mr. John Morris

The latest estimate was made in "Personal Wealth and Finance in Wales" which was commissioned by the Welsh Office, a copy of which is in the Library. This estimated that in 1970 the net worth—assets less liabilities—per head of the population aged 15 and over in Wales was £2,379, which represented 72 per cent. of the estimate for the United Kingdom as a whole.
