HC Deb 15 July 1974 vol 877 cc2-3W
31. Mr. MacFarlane

asked the Secretary of State for Trade when he next plans to meet his opposite numbers in the Governments of the other member States of the European Community.

Mr. Shore

I hope to see as many as possible of my opposite numbers in other Common Market countries when my other commitments permit.

35. Mr. Cormack

asked the Secretary of State for Trade how the percentage trade deficit with Britain's partners in the European Economic Community compared with the percentage deficit with the rest of the world in 1973.

Mr. Shore

The trade deficit with the EEC was £1,119 million, 24 per cent. of imports from the EEC. For the rest of the world the comparable figures are £1,256 million and 14 per cent.

49. Mr. Body

asked the Secretary of State for Trade whether he will make a statement about the United Kingdom's trade deficit with the EEC since 1st January 1974.

Mr. Shore

I would refer the hon. Member to my reply to similar Questions by the hon. Members for Banbury (Mr. Marten) and City of Chester (Mr. Morrison) earlier today.
