The New Earnings Survey provides some estimates for women classified as chefs or cooks but not limited to those employed in hotels and restaurants. They do not take full account of benefits in kind. The weekly earnings of women aged 18 and over employed full-time in Great Britain averaged about £12.50 in April 1970 and about £19.02 in April 1973 in this occupation.
