§ Mr. Biggs-Davisonasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs which black African organisations in Rhodesia other than the African National Council will be amongst the bodies whose opinions will be sought by Her Majesty's Government in relation to any proposals for a settlement.
§ Miss Joan LestorWe are always ready to listen to the opinions of Rhodesian organisations. As to proposals for a settlement, we have emphasised that we will agree to no settlement unless we are satisfied that it enjoys the support of the African majority. This clearly means consultation with many shades of African opinion.
§ Mr. James Johnsonasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what action Her Majesty's Government have taken over the Byrd Amendment, which allows the import of strategic materials from Rhodesia to the United States of America.
