§ Mr. Guy Barnettasked the Prime Minister whether he intends to make any changes in his practice on the grouping of parliamentary Questions.
§ The Prime MinisterYes. Following Mr. Speaker's suggestion on 26th June—[Vol. 875, c. 1555–6]—that only three or four Questions should be grouped together, I have decided to modify the practice, which has been followed by successive Prime Ministers, whereby all Questions of a similar kind tabled on the first available day are grouped together. To ensure that a wider range of Questions is reached orally, and in fairness to hon. Members with Questions high on the Order Paper, I propose to group such Questions only when they appear within the top 10 Questions on the Order Paper.
