HC Deb 08 July 1974 vol 876 c370W
Mr. Newens

asked the Minister of Overseas Development what support Her Majesty's Government are giving to plans formulated at the Paris meeting organised by the Bank for Reconstruction and Development on 16th October 1973, at which Great Britain was represented, to provide additional aid for South Vietnam.

Mrs. Hart

The Paris meeting discussed aid not solely to South Vietnam, but to Indochina as a whole. The British Government then confirmed their willingness to take part in an internationally organised reconstruction programme should one be established. No plans were formulated and no further meeting has taken place.
