asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he can now say where the route of the extension of the M1 motorway from Fiveways Corner to the North Circular Road will terminate; and whether any further extension from that terminal place into London is now contemplated.

At a roundabout on the North Circular Road, the centre of which is about 1,000 yards west of Brent Cross. There is no intention to extend it further as a trunk road, and I understand that the Greater London Council does not intend to construct any extension.
