Mr. Nott

asked the Secretary of State for Trade what is his estimate of the total funds provided from central Government resources to the tourist industry in Cornwall in each of the past five years.

Mr. Deakins

The approximate figures for grant and loan assistance to tourist projects in Cornwall over this period are plus £600,000 in loans to hotels under the Hotel Development Incentive Scheme for which a breakdown by years is not readily obtainable.
