HC Deb 04 July 1974 vol 876 cc267-8W
Mr. Russell Johnston

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether any vacancies exist in List D schools in Scotland; and, if none, how many of these schools have waiting lists.

Mr. William Ross

The situation varies from day to day and from one school to another. Taking the schools as a whole, there are very few vacancies at the present time, and 13 out of 26 schools have closed waiting lists.

Mr. Russell Johnston

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he has any proposals to extend List D school facilities in Scotland.

Mr. William Ross

About 80 new places are included in the present build ing programme for the List D schools. All the schemes in question have either started or are due to start within the current financial year.
