§ Mr. Dodsworthasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will consider introducing legislation to make compulsory the wearing of hard hats by all persons under 18 years of age on horseback.
§ Mr. Denis HowellI doubt the need for legislation. All riders are advised in the Riding Code to wear a hard hat and this is compulsory for participants in events held under the aegis of the British Horse Society and the Pony Club and in show Jumping.
